India's Jammu-Srinagar highway is one of the world's deadliest: 80% of car accidents occur at dangerous hairpin bends. To get drivers to slow down at these bends, radar-enabled smart poles were installed that read a vehicle's speed before communicating with the pole at the other end. Loud honks are then sent to the drivers to slow down.
