Relevancy
The music video was made entirely out of photos and videos from gettyimages. It took months of work, including the initial research, creative work, and the editing process, which was extremely complex. The main challenge was to find photos and videos that would make sense together and that would look like a real music video. The result was a fantastic, electrifying clip full of entertaining juxtapositions. What’s even more impressive is that the video was custom-made to fit the song. Many of the scenes were conceived to go along with specific parts of the single, which really enriched the whole process.
EntrySummary
gettyimages is one of the biggest image databases in the world. This time around, we needed to show that it also has a huge variety of videos and audio files. Instead of just showing the size of our collection, we managed to create something incredible by putting together videos, photos, and audio: we gave life to a DJ. And to sell these three services to agencies and production companies, we presented the DJ to the media through the brand’s YouTube channel. We also created a website where everyone could watch the music video and see just how it was made.
BriefExplanation
Rather than just showing the huge variety of video, photos, and audio that gettyimages has to offer, we decided to prove it. We came up with the idea of creating a DJ using only gettyimages files. We composed a song, a music video, and his whole visual identity using only audio, video, and photos from gettyimages. First we put together the song, using countless audio files, including percussion, guitar riffs, and even the sound of a rubber duck. After the song was done, we created a music video for the single using photos and videos from the gettyimages collection. The whole process took months of work, from the conception of the visual language to the editing process, where we adopted a collage aesthetic – a great tack when you have so many videos and photos available to work with. Finally, we created the DJ’s visual identity using photos from gettyimages.
