We took pictures of Vietnamese children living along polluted rivers. Then we developed the pictures the old way, in water and a dark room. But we developed it in the polluted water of the river of their neighborhood. This is the result. If impure water does this to a picture, imagine what it does to the health and well being of a child. Clean water matters.

A big part of the Vietnamese population lives next to the country’s rivers. These people depend on the water, as they use it for daily chores and cleansing. Every 15 seconds a child dies of impure water. Water Week was the ideal opportunity to make everybody aware. We took pictures of Vietnamese children living along polluted rivers, and used the polluted water to develop them, just like they develop themselves. These pictures were turned into a striking print- and outdoor campaign, with each picture mentioning the name of the child and the river it lives next to.
