EntrySummary
Dictionary.com lists “almond” as the second most mispronounced word in the English language. Often times, people will leave out the “L” and say “ah-mend.” This mispronunciation is harmless, but as humans, we all have pet peeves that drive us to overreact from time to time.
BriefExplanation
In this film, we see two friends in a car. The passenger pulls out a SNICKERS ALMOND bar and begins to talk about almonds, but mispronounces the word as AH-MEND each time he says it. The driver initially tries to ignore the mispronunciations, but his own hunger gets the best of him, and his agitation slowly boils until he eventually bails out of the moving the car in an ill-advised effort to escape the mispronunciation. We see the car crash into the curb down the road, and our driver pick himself up off the road as a super appears on screen: You OVERREACT when you’re hungry. Over the end card, he tries to justify his action, calling out “It’s almond—with an ‘L.’”
