Entry Summary
INS Vikrant was India’s first aircraft carrier and an iconic war-hero. She played a decisive role in the historic 1971 Indo-Pak war, which led to the birth of a new nation – Bangladesh. She was the representation of India’s naval prowess and a symbol of national pride for over 36 years. But in 2014, this legendary ship was sent to the scrapyard where she was ripped apart, and with it the nation’s pride too. Huge protests followed but to no avail.The war veterans in a way represented the Vikrant. Their stories rekindled the patriotism of the entire nation and also made people feel proud to own a piece of history through Bajaj V.
Brief Explanation
The film opens on retired Naval officers and war veterans of the historic 1971 Indo-Pak war, narrating erstwhile untold stories of pride and valour during their time on India’s first aircraft carrier- the legendary INS Vikrant. These brave sons take the viewers through a journey right from the genesis, to the war and finally to the unfortunate scrapping of this iconic war-hero.
