Part Little Rascals and part Mad Max, this playful-turned-gritty black-and-white film features 250+ real SickKids patients and their siblings desperately tearing apart their own homes and neighbourhoods, salvaging materials to build the new hospital by any means necessary. Kids from every corner of Toronto (both sick and healthy) run towards the centre of the city, carrying their stripped and looted materials, and congregate around the new building site. They pause, as one of the youngest and sickest of the children walks forward to place the first brick on the ground to kickstart the building of a new SickKids.
Audience
This film was created to raise donations for a desperately needed new SickKids hospital building, bringing it into the 21st century, which would greatly impact the lives of countless children both in Toronto and around the world.
